Typical trend following portfolios can go through several potential new trending stocks before several take hold.  The Market Trend Signal™ Model Portfolio approach is to buy into new trends based on an UP/BUY rating or UP/HOLD ratings. We will cut losses very quickly based on stop losses or SELL Signals,  to keep losses small as we work toward a group of stocks that start to trend nicely. We are not afraid to re-enter a stock that has been stopped out, but has proven it may start to work again. There may be many trades and we may have more losers than winners for a time, but overall our winners will be big winners and will make up for any of the small losses incurred.

This Market Trend Signal™ portfolio is quite actively managed and the lengths of trades are dependent upon the length of the trend, so some trades may turn out to be as long as a few months or as short as a few days. The portfolio can be quite volatile. This is only a model portfolio of possible trades, which will employ several strategies the site provides. You don’t have to use these picks or recommendations, you may create and use your own specific strategies that you are comfortable with and that are working for you.  There may be times when the portfolio is fully invested and has no cash to put to work.  If we see a potentially better trade we will cut losers or under performers.  This portfolio will seek absolute returns, meaning we want it to go up no matter what the market does.
